Don Vigneault and
Jerry Starns arrived early to help setup the room for the meeting. They
had the place open and set up the tables and chairs for the meeting before
I got there. Jerry brought in some excellent enchiladas. Jean Vigneault
had a crock-pot with good chili. Nellie Ruiz delighted many with her Nopales.
Now, that is natural food!
I put the coffee
on to brew and found a place for my Mother, Mary Cook next to Helen Halling.
They started to exchange views on crochet projects. Esther Abrahano, President
chaired the meeting and Don Vigneault led the blessing. Visitors, El Bisarra
and Anita Sharp from the American Indian Health Clinic spoke to the membership
of recent developments.
Announcements
of the Grunion Festival, later the same Sunday in Pacific Beach and future
activities were shared with the members. Rose Davis sent the published
copies of the summer issue of INDIAN VOICES for the TONKAWA members to
enjoy.
The TONKAWA
proceedings and past newsletters are available 24 hours and seven days
a week on the World Wide Web, americanindiansource.com. TONKAWA associate
member Jean Vigneault is continuing to mail the TONKAWA club newsletter
to the membership. Don Vigneault called up the members for the gift exchange.
Finally,
we bagged, bundled and cleaned up the Chester Hunt community meeting room
at the Many Nations Recovery Center to finish up another fun, fabulous,
TONKAWA club time with the most beautiful people in the world, Indian
people. Mehan, thank you
